Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is already generating a lot of buzz, with fans speculating about design tweaks and potential new features. So far, the rumours have pointed to a slimmer “Air” model and a redesigned camera setup. Some reports suggest that the devices under the Pro models could be available in a new blue colour. Apple fans are also expecting a major revamp in software.

It remains to be seen how much of these speculations turn into reality when Apple officially reveals the models at its annual September event.

Till then, here's what leaks and reports indicate about Apple's latest lineup amid speculations by tech enthusiasts:

1. Slimmer iPhone 17 'Air': One major rumour hints at a new iPhone "Air" model, which might replace the Plus version. Reports indicated that it is likely to feature a 6.6-inch display and measure just 5.5mm thick, and it can come at a cost of $900. Due to its slim design, the iPhone Air may come with a scaled-down camera unit, compared to other models. It could also sport either A18 or A19-branded chips, and may come with 8GB of RAM.

2. Higher refresh rate: Rumours also indicated that all iPhone 17 models may get a 120Hz display. This comes as the iPhone 16's 60Hz screen was a disappointment for many users. A higher refresh rate would fix that problem. Apple may also improve scratch resistance features with a new anti-reflective Ceramic Shield, a report by CNET said.

3. Improved camera: Camera upgrades are also expected for the iPhone 17 lineup, with some leaks pointing to a new pill-shaped camera bar. Notably, Google's Pixel 9 also has a similar design. One of the leaks, shared by tech enthusiast Majin Bu in February, showed horizontal camera bars on render models. The design looked sleek and modern. It's a big change from the usual layout. According to some reports, iPhone 17 Air may also come with a smaller camera bar.
