iPhone 17 Air Battery Capacity Leaked: How Does It Compare With Samsung S25 Edge

Days after the launch of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, a leaked report has surfaced about the battery capacity of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. A lot of buzz has been doing around these two “ultra” smartphone models by Samsung and Apple.
One of the major highlights between their comparison will remain battery performance as that had to be compromised for the slim design of the models. Galaxy S25 Edge’s battery has been confirmed to be 3,900 mAh battery, the lowest capacity in its series.
However, Samsung's ultra-thin flagship model may still outshine Apple’s iPhone 17 Air, which is likely to have an even lower battery capacity. According to a report by Android Authority, the Apple iPhone 17 Air may come with a battery of just 2,800 mAh, raising concerns about the performance capabilities of the model.
The report cited tipster yeux1122’s blog to claim that iPhone 17 Air will be 5.5mm thick, but will only feature a 2,800 mAh battery. This means that iPhone 17 Air will be thinner than the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge.

However, the report also added that it is possible that Apple is going to use a high-density silicon-carbon battery to increase the overall capacity. Apple may attempt to use this technique to enhance the performance by 15-20%. Earlier, a Bloomberg report had made similar claims that iPhone 17 Air could leverage from silicon-carbon battery tech.
The launch of iPhone 17 series is scheduled for September. Meanwhile, Samsung unveiled its much-awaited Galaxy S25 Edge this week, which is now open for pre-booking. According to Samsung India’s website, early delivery of the model starts on May 27.
The S25 Edge comes in two variants: 256GB and 512 GB. At the moment, the 512 GB model is also being offered at the price of 256GB on Samsung’s website at Rs 1,09,999.
The 256GB model is available in black and titanium silver colours. Meanwhile, the high-end variant is available in three colours: Mint, blue and graphite.
