A recent comparison between the iPhone 16 Pro and Galaxy S25 Ultra is gaining traction, as it puts their powerful cameras head-to-head in tests. While both smartphone giants perform well, there are small differences that set them apart.

The comparison test between the Apple and Samsung models was conducted by CNET, which captured multiple shots in various conditions. These include daylight, night mode, ultra-wide and selfie use cases in a bid to evaluate their camera performance.

Daylight Outdoor Scene:

In an outdoor scene captured by both phones, it was observed that both models delivered sharp, well-exposed shots. However, the iPhone 16 Pro edged ahead in this case, presenting a warmer image and more natural colour tones.

Ultrawide Lens At Day Time

When the shots were captured using the ultrawide lens, it appeared that the iPhone’s ultrawide shot had warmer tones and lighter shadows. However, the Galaxy S25 Ultra was found to deliver more vibrant colours. It outshone the iPhone, particularly when it came to capturing shades of green. According to the report, Samsung’s lens could be slightly polarised to reduce reflections.

Zoom Features

At 5x zoom, the iPhone struggles with focus, the report added. In comparison, the S25 Ultra was found to deliver a sharper, more vibrant image. Ultra’s 10x optical zoom offered clearer details, but the comparison was balanced by the iPhone’s impressive digital zoom. It was found that the Apple model, despite its disadvantages, was able to deliver surprisingly sharp and detailed results.

Night Mode

In standard night mode, both phones performed similarly in exposure, detail, and noise. However, when similar shots were captured using the ultrawide lenses, it was found that the S25 Ultra offered brighter images in some circumstances, while the iPhone was ahead in other instances. On the other hand, the S25 Ultra still appeared the winner in this case for being able to offer colour-accurate and brighter shots in different cases.

Selfie

The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s selfie is brighter but distorts colours, giving unnatural tones, according to the report. It further concluded that the iPhone 16 Pro delivers more accurate skin tones and sharper detail, making it the winner in selfie shots.
