Google’s Gemini To Debut On Samsung Galaxy Watches and Buds
This update extends AI features across the entire Samsung Galaxy ecosystem.
Samsung has declared that the Google Gemini is set to debut on its Samsung Galaxy Watches and the Galaxy Buds3 series. Samsung highlighted that this move will bring AI features across all the devices in the Galaxy ecosystem. However, it has not provided an exact schedule or details about which watches will be equipped with Gemini.
“Your Galaxy wearables are about to get even smarter in the coming months. Google Gemini is set to debut on Samsung Galaxy Watches, making its first integration into the Galaxy wearable lineup. Moreover, activating Gemini will be smoother than ever when paired with the Galaxy Buds3 series,” Samsung said.
By using Gemini, users can provide voice commands to their watches without touching the device. This will boost productivity as users can use the watch without getting distracted from the task at hand.
Samsung gave two examples to explain its utility. If a user is running on a treadmill at a gym, they can ask Gemini to “Remember I’m using locker 43 today,” so that a reminder is set accordingly. Similarly, if a user receives a crucial email during grocery shopping, they can ask Gemini to summarise the email to quickly comprehend the important details.
“Gemini handles these requests across your apps, letting you quickly glance at the response and get right back to what you’re doing,” Samsung said.
The smartphone maker added that the Gemini experience will become “even more seamless” when used with Galaxy Buds. With voice or pinch and hold controls, users can activate Gemini on their Galaxy Buds and provide instructions to their smartphones. This allows a user to use their phone without having to access it directly.
While the exact timeline for the introduction of Gemini into Samsung wearables is not known, SamMobile reported that it could be a part of the One UI 8 Watch update. This update is expected to be unveiled along with the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which is expected to be held in July 2025.
SamMobile said that every Wear OS Galaxy Watch is expected to receive Gemini. This would include the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and the Galaxy Watch FE. It also noted the probability of Gemini not being available on older wearables.
