Google Pixel 9a Vs Pixel 10: Check Out Feature, Camera, Chipset, Design, Price Comparison

With the Pixel 9a, Google appears to have launched an excellent mid-range device. Barring a few misses, such as an older modem, the Pixel 9a packs many upgrades, and with a price tag of $499 — Rs 49,999 in India — it is definitely a bang for the buck.

But how does the Pixel 9a fare against the upcoming Pixel 10, which is expected to launch in a few months?

Here's a comparison between Google Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 (as per its reported and rumoured features).

With its pill-shaped small camera bump, the 9a has changed the design philosophy of a Google Pixel, which had a thick camera bar. Many are wondering whether this will be the design going forward, but that may not be the case. Leaked Pixel 10 phone pictures have so far kept the camera bar intact, so the singularly Google look might very much be there in the Pixel 10.

On the camera front, the Pixel 9a has a 48MP primary camera and 13MP ultrawide shooter. While little is known about the Pixel 10 camera, even if Google keeps the configuration of the Pixel 9 as the bare minimum, its 50MP main camera and 48MP ultrawide will outshine that of the Pixel 9a.

While the Pixel 9a has been upgraded with the Tensor G4 chipset, this is an area where the flagship Pixel 10 might throttle ahead. The next-generation Pixel 10 could pack a Tensor G5 chipset, which is expected to uplift its performance. By how much it's not sure though, because the new chip is "the same" as it's "basically [a] TSMC-made version of G4", according to tipster Chunvn8888.

The Pixel 10 will have at least 12GB RAM, matching or even surpassing the 8GB of the Pixel 9a. With RAM crucial for AI, and rumoured features such as Video Generative ML and Speak-to-Tweak photo editor, Google is expected to keep it up there when it comes to flagships.

The Pixel 9a starts at $499, so it's definitely a great mid-range buy. Over the last two generations, the price of the standard Pixel has increased, rising from $599 for the Pixel 7 to $799 for the Pixel 9. There's a big price difference between Pixel 9a and 10, even if Google considers a similar price point for the Pixel 10. Pixel 10 will definitely be in the high-end range, but might be worth the wait for those who love flagships.
