Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Starlink, has highlighted plans for a single Starlink account that could cover both a user's home antenna, including Wi-Fi, and their mobile phone. Upon full deployment, the technology will enable high-definition video streaming even in the world's most isolated locations.
In an All-In Summit interview circulated on social media, Musk said the service would eventually allow SpaceX to provide high-bandwidth connectivity directly from satellites to mobile phones. However, he noted that hardware changes would be required in existing devices because current phones do not support the frequencies needed for the service.

“It will allow SpaceX to deliver high-bandwidth connectivity directly from the satellites to the phone. Hardware changes that need to happen in the phone. So, since these frequencies are not supported in current phones, the chipset has to be modified to add these frequencies,” Musk said.
He said the advancement in high-speed frequency technology and the required hardware changes would take time, adding that it would “probably be a two-year time frame.”
“So the phones that are able to use the spectrum that was acquired probably start shipping in around two years,” he said.

He just dropped the phrase that's going to change EVERYTHING:
Starlink will have a single account that covers your home antenna (with Wi-Fi included) AND your cell phone too.
“SpaceX is going to give you high-speed internet DIRECT from the satellite…
Musk added that Starlink would also need to deploy satellites capable of communicating on the new frequencies while working with handset manufacturers to incorporate support for those frequencies into mobile devices.
“And that we also need to pull the satellites that are going to communicate on those frequencies. We're building the satellites and working with the handset makers to add these frequencies to the phones,” he said.
He added that the technology would connect handset devices directly to satellites to provide high-bandwidth connectivity.
Asked whether his vision was to replace traditional mobile carriers and roaming arrangements, particularly for users travelling between countries such as the UK and India, and make Starlink a global carrier, Musk said existing telecom operators would continue to play an important role.
“We are not gonna put the other carriers out of business. They are still gonna be around cause they own a lot of spectrum,” he said.

However, Musk said users could have a Starlink account alongside services offered by traditional carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
“You could have Starlink account that could work with Starlink antenna at home with free Wi-Fi as well as on your phone,” he said, describing it as “a comprehensive solution.”
