Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Camera To Get Bold Upgrade, Latest Leak Suggests
A closer glance at the iPhone 17 Pro Max and third-party cases shows big changes, particularly to the camera system.

Apple rarely, if ever, tries to change the look and feel of a product, especially if it is already a best-seller. However, times seem to be changing as it may well be going for a massive makeover for its upcoming premium smartphone offering, the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This has been revealed via a leak that makes this suggestion based on third-party cases. It shows the iPhone 17 Pro Max camera system's iconic look undergoing a transformation.
Bigger iPhone 17 pro Max Camera Setup
Apple "insider" Sonny Dickson shared case designs that reportedly show a larger camera module on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The back now features a separate section for flash and sensors, changing its look.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to retain its three-camera setup, but what is around it will undergo big changes - for reasons as yet unexplained. However, Apple may introduce new lens technology such as the 'two in one' lens as found on the iPhone 16e. What would be the benefit for the user? Well, improved image quality, for one.
iPhone 17 Pro Max Camera Bar Design
A new ‘camera bar’ running across the back of the device is among the biggest changes. The iPhone 17 Pro Max shares a similar design to that of Google Pixel smartphones, but it's not just bigger, it is massive.
Photography-Focused iPhone 17 Pro Max
Apple has always emphasised the professional-grade camera quality available on its smartphones, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will continue that trend. The redesigned camera island likely allows for new hardware, and Apple’s AI-powered features could bring even better photography experiences.
Having said all that, there is no final design as Apple has stayed mum on all these rumors, but what we can expect is an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a camera designed for top-shelf imaging.
Apple is also rumoured to release the iPhone 17 Air, a super-slim version of the iPhone Plus. The Air, however, is expected to be a single-lens setup. The standard iPhone 17 might echo the iPhone 16e with its camera design.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to be officially revealed in September.
