Apple iPhone 17 And Google Pixel 10 Comparison: Who Will Take The Crown?

The months of August and September will see releases of two of the biggest smartphone lines: iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 10. While the Pixel 10 is confirmed to launch on Aug. 20, the iPhone 17’s precise launch date is still up in the air. One thing is for sure: the iPhone 17-Pixel 10 battle will be one of the year’s biggest.

Let’s look at how the iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 10 compare, basis their expected specs, features, and prices.

The iPhone 17 will reportedly feature the A19 chip, based on the cutting-edge 2nm process. If this is true, Apple’s chip could edge out Google’s upcoming Tensor G5 SoC in terms of performance, which will use a 3nm process.

The iPhone 17 is tipped to get new cameras, including a 24MP selfie shooter in the entire range and a 48MP telephoto in Pro models. The Pixels are renowned for their optics, and Google is expected to keep the camera tech right up there: the base Pixel 10 could feature a 50MP main camera, 13MP ultrawide, 11MP telephoto, and 12MP front camera, while the Pro models could pack 50MP primary, 48MP ultrawide and telephoto sensors, and 42MP selfie camera.

The base models of iPhone 17 and Pixel 10 may have 6.3-inch displays with some tech upgrades. The iPhone 17 Pro Max’s screen could measure 6.9 inches, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL will likely have a 6.8-inch display and the 10 Pro Fold a bigger 6.4-inch cover and the same 8-inch main display.

The Pixel 10 range is expected to pack bigger batteries (10 Pro Fold: 5,015mAh; 10 Pro: 4,870mAh; Pixel 10: 4,700mAh) than the iPhone 17 models (iPhone 17: 3,600mAh; iPhone 17 Air: 2,800mAh; Pro Max: over 5,000mAh). However, iOS 26 optimisations and denser cells are expected to improve iPhone 17 battery life. 

The iPhone 17 is set to run the newly launched iOS 26 with a fluid and transparent Liquid Glass interface. The Pixel 10 is expected to launch with Android 16 and a new user interface design called Material 3 Expressive.

The iPhone 17 will get some new AI features, although Siri’s AI upgrades will arrive only next year. The Pixel 10 is tipped to get a new AI assistant called Pixel Sense and a host of AI features announced at Google I/O in May.

The iPhone 17 range is expected to start at $799, and the base Pixel 10 could cost the same as well. The iPhone 17 Air might range between $1,299 and $1,500, while the Pro Max could go up to $1,299. The Pixel 10 Pro XL could be priced around $1,500, while the Fold variant could cost $1,799.

While prices are speculative, the iPhone 17 might lead in performance, while the Pixel 10 could race ahead when it comes to camera and AI capabilities.
