007 First Light: IO Interactive's New Video Game Charts Young James Bond's Life At MI6

James Bond fans are in for a treat!

Amazon MGM Studios and IO Interactive, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Hitman series, have announced 007 First Light, a new James Bond-themed video game. The action-adventure game offers a novel retelling of James Bond’s beginnings, a glimpse of which was offered in a new trailer. 

In 007 First Light, players get introduced to a young Bond. He is a gifted, yet rebellious air crewman of the British Royal Navy whose bravery and keen intuition leads to his selection into the British Secret Intelligence Service MI6. The game tracks him as he joins the agency’s double-0 programme, which is the first step on his tough path to becoming the famed 007.

Players will be able to experience Bond’s early tenure at MI6 and witness his growth from a young recruit to a full-fledged spy. The trailer shows a glimpse of exotic locations around the globe that players can explore, face both allies and adversaries, and overcome obstacles through Bond’s trademark brutishness, cunning and wit.

007 First Light is a third-person game that combines the storyline of Bond and MI6 with IO Interactive’s combat elements and immersive gameplay. As he transitions to 007 status, players will use Bond’s explosive abilities and make use of the newest technology and gadgets from Q Branch.  

In addition to the well-known characters M, Q, and Moneypenny from the James Bond franchise, the game also includes a number of new ones. These include Bond’s mentor John Greenway and the mysterious Isola.

007 First Light is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be accessible on the following devices:

• PC via Steam.
