Punjab Kings, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, will have their eyes on the trophy when they face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL final on June 3. Punjab have produced an exceptional show in the tournament, be it the fireworks by the opening pair of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh or finishing on top of the points table in the league stage. PBKS have dominated the season and how.

Whereas, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who entered the final after beating Punjab in Qualifier 1, will aim to produce a clinical show at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For RCB, this will be their 4th IPL final.

While the countdown for the IPL 2025 final has begun, let us quickly take a look at the top records set in the IPL finals.

From Shane Watson’s unbeaten 117 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad to Anil Kumble’s 4-fer versus the Deccan Chargers, the marquee event has witnessed some game-changing performances.

Take a look at some of the records set in the IPL finals.

Highest Individual Scores In IPL Finals

Shane Watson holds the record for the highest individual knock in the tournament final. His 117* off 57 deliveries helped Chennai Super Kings secure their third title in 2018.

Back in 2014, Wriddhiman Saha scored an unbeaten 115 for (then) Kings XI Punjab against the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, his efforts went in vain as KKR managed to lift the trophy.

Sai Sudharsan has always been a player the Gujarat Titans can count on. In 2023, he proved his mettle by scoring 96 off 47 balls. However, the night belonged to MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings, who clinched their fifth title, courtesy Ravindra Jadeja’s six off the last ball.

In 2009, Anil Kumble managed to decimate the Deccan Chargers when he scalped 4 wickets for 16 runs. The veteran bowler did give the Royal Challengers Bengaluru an advantage, but the side failed to capitalise on it and ended up losing the game.

Dwayne Bravo proved to be one of CSK’s best all-rounders yet again with his performance against Mumbai in 2013. The Caribbean bowler scalped 4 wickets for 42 runs in the fixture.

For (then) Kings XI Punjab, their appearance in the 2014 IPL final might always remain a bittersweet memory. Though the side put up some great performances, including 4/54 from Karanveer Singh, it was KKR who walked away with the trophy.
