India and New Zealand are set to face each other in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The big-ticket clash will be held at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, Mar 9.

The last time these two teams met was the final match of the league stage, wherein India notched a comfortable win to seal the top spot in Group A. With Varun Chakravarthy taking a five-wicket haul, New Zealand were bundled out for 205 runs while chasing 250 in Dubai.

India overcame Australia in the semi-final, registering a four-wicket win. New Zealand, on the other hand, defeated South Africa by 50 runs to book their tickets to the final.

Ahead of the much-anticipated Champions Trophy final, let's take a look at the head-to-head records between India and New Zealand:

India vs New Zealand: Head-To-Head In ODIs

India have played a total of 119 ODIs against New Zealand. The Men in Blue have emerged victorious in 61 matches, while the Blackcaps have beaten them on 50 occasions. One game ended in a tie, and the remaining seven ODIs had no results. Despite trailing in the overall numbers, New Zealand have a brilliant record against India in ICC knockouts.

The two teams have faced each other four times in a do-or-die situation. New Zealand beat India in the 2000 Champions Trophy final to clinch their first ICC trophy. The Asian giants were knocked out from the 2019 ODI World Cup after losing the semi-final to New Zealand.

Two years later, they met in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, which New Zealand won by eight wickets.

India vs New Zealand: Head-To-Head In Champions Trophy

India and New Zealand have met twice in the Champions Trophy since the tournament's inception (as the ICC KnockOut Trophy) in 1998. The two teams clashed in the 2000 final where the Sourav Ganguly-led India batted first and posted 264 runs at a loss of nine wickets. Ganguly contributed with a 117-run knock while his opening partner Sachin Tendulkar scored 69 runs.

Coming to chase, New Zealand lost a few early wickets, with Anil Kumble and Venkatesh Prasad ripping through their top order. Chris Cairns then revived the innings with a brilliant century. He also stitched a 122-run partnership with Chris Harris, who added 46 to the score. Powered by their efforts, New Zealand secured a four-wicket victory in the final.

India and New Zealand squared off against each other for the second time in the league stage of the ongoing Champions Trophy. Rohit Sharma and Co. won the league fixture in Dubai by 44 runs.
