The government had announced on Wednesday that everyone above 60 years of age and those over 45 years with comorbidities will be able to get Covid-19 vaccine from March 1 for free at government facilities and for a charge at many private hospitals.
Citizens will be able to register and book an appointment for vaccination, anytime and anywhere, using the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or through other IT applications such as Aarogya Setu.
India also reported more than a 100 deaths for the sixth day in a row, taking the total tally above 1.57 lakh. Total deaths now account for 1.41% of the over 1.11 crore coronavirus cases detected in the country.

India administered 1,43,01,266 vaccine doses to healthcare and frontline workers in phase I of the immunisation programme. The second phase of inoculations begin today, where senior citizens and those above the age of 45 with comorbidities will be able to get vaccinated.
