Motilal Oswal Report

The Mutual Fund industry saw net inflows of Rs 728 billion in April 2022, which was mainly driven by declining redemptions in equity and liquid funds.

Industry monthly average assets under management grew 3% month-on-month to Rs 38.9 trillion.

However, the number of folio additions declined to 1.8 million from monthly run-rate of 2-3 million over the past 10 months. This was mainly driven by decline in folio addition for passive funds.

Debt funds continue to see a decline in folio counts.

Systematic investment plan flows stood at Rs 119 billion (versus Rs 123 billion in March 2022).

The month-on-month decline was due to the higher base in March-22 (spill over from February 2022).
