Anand Rathi Report

With the impact of the monsoon ebbing and seasonal demand picking up due to the coming festivals (Navratri, Dusshera), cement companies have hiked prices across regions (North ~Rs 15, South ~Rs 40, West ~Rs 10, Central ~Rs 10 a bag); in the East, though, dealers expect a price hike of at least Rs 10/bag post Durga Pooja.

Our channel checks suggest retail demand would be strong whereas institutional demand may be hit by higher prices of steel, diesel and sand, and by government-funding issues in some regions.
