Reliance Industries Ltd. Chairperson Mukesh Ambani credited the robust growth in digital services business to sustained subscriber addition and consistent improvement in customer engagement metrics.

"This was well supported by a favourable subscriber mix, with an increasing number of users upgrading to 5G networks," Ambani said. "Jio's compelling offering of home broadband services also continued to rapidly gain ground and maintain its pre-eminent market position."

Jio continues to drive 5G uptake in India with over 170 million subscribers on True5G network, accounting for 40% of Jio's wireless traffic, he added.

During the post-earnings call, Kiran Thomas of Reliance Jio stated that JioAirFiber transformed the broadband connectivity in the country, especially beyond the top 1,000 cities/towns.

Thomas said that more than 70% of incremental JioAirFiber additions are coming from these previously underserved cities/towns. He stated that JioAICloud, the AI powered cloud service, has raised the bar by providing 100 GB of cloud space to all Jio users free of cost.

"Jio has played a key role in digital inclusion by bringing the world's best communication technologies for every Indian," Akash Ambani, chairperson of Reliance Jio, said. "Rapid scale up of 5G adoption and proliferating fixed broadband beyond Tier 1 towns over the past year, further strengthens the Digital India mission."
