Think of your financial life as a money box, advocates Monika Halan in her just released book – Let's Talk Money.

Each cell in the money box represents a different need – expenses-recurring and special, short-, medium- and long-term investments, insurances, retirement planning, emergency needs, among others.

“A good money box is one that allows you to streamline your cash flows,” Halan told BloombergQuint in an interview.

The goal is to make you feel more confident about your money life, but in a system that allows you to be hands-free for most of the year, needing to open the box no more than twice a year.
