(Bloomberg) -- Pablo Iglesias, the leader of the far-left group Podemos, will resign his position as deputy prime minister of Spain to run as a candidate in Madrid's regional election, El Pais reported.
The Spanish capital will elect a new regional assembly on May 4 after the center-right regional president, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, called a snap vote earlier this month in a bid to defeat rebels within her governing coalition.
