(Bloomberg) -- Paul Manafort is appealing a federal court's dismissal of a lawsuit he filed disputing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's authority to charge him for crimes unrelated to his role as President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson dismissed the civil suit on April 27, saying the criminal cases against Manafort were the proper venue for his challenge of the Justice Department order that granted Mueller authority to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Manafort filed an appeal of that decision on Thursday.
