Ladki Bahin Scheme: Fadnavis Announces Next Instalment Update For Over 2 Crore Women

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday announced that the next instalment of the popular welfare scheme 'Ladki Bahin' will be credited to over two crore women beneficiaries later this month.
"There should be no doubt about our promises of welfare schemes. Our Ladki Bahin showed faith in the Mahayuti and we assure that the next instalment will be credited after the end of this session," Fadnavis told legislators during the assembly session in Nagpur.
The ongoing winter session of the Maharashtra legislative assembly concludes on Dec. 21. As per the Chief Minister's remark, beneficiaries can expect Rs 1,500 in their bank accounts later this month.
The leader also stressed that the eligibility criteria of the Ladki Bahin scheme will not be altered.
The 'Mukhyamantri - Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' was launched by the Maharashtra government in July by then Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, months before the elections.
The scheme aims to give economic freedom to women in the state, improving their health and nutrition and strengthening their decisive role in the family.
Under the scheme, women aged between 21 and 65 years are provided financial benefit of Rs 1,500 per month through direct benefit transfer.

So far, five instalments of Rs 1,500 have been credited to over two crore beneficiaries between July and November.
