London’s City Airport Evacuated After ‘Chemical Incident’

None

(Bloomberg) -- London's City Airport was evacuated and ambulances treated people who were feeling unwell after a “chemical incident,” emergency services said.

All aircraft movements were suspended and the airport was evacuated on land side and air side, a spokeswoman for the airport said by phone. Two people were taken to hospital and 26 were treated at the airport, London's ambulance service said.

There were no details on the cause of the incident, which prompted three fire engines to be called to the scene.

The airport advised passengers to check with their airlines for information on their flights and the website showed some fights had been canceled.

City Airport, in the east of London, specializes in short-haul flights and caters particularly for business travelers.
