‘Sabash Naidu’: Dalit Body Wants Kamal Haasan to Change Film Title

Dalit Association wants to stall the shoot of Kamal Hassan’s film.

A Dalit association has taken offence to Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film.

On Monday, the Association for Progress of Tamil Nadu Arunthathiyar filed a complaint against Haasan’s Sabash Naidu at the collector’s office for allegedly promoting only one caste over the others.

The association has asked the collector to stall the shoot of the movie.

The movie is titled Sabash Naidu. They are trying to portray the Naidu community as a higher caste. Why are they highlighting only one community, Does it mean that all the other communities are lower than them?

He wants the makers of the film to change the title and the Tamil Nadu government to ban it.

We want that no banners, hoardings or posters of the movie put up.

The association claimed that if no action is taken against the movie then they will carry out a mass agitation in Coimbatore and Chennai. The movie is scheduled to release on 1 December.
