The Bharatiya Janata Party is headed for a decisive victory in the Delhi assembly elections, with a vote share of around 48%, according to the exit poll released by Axis My India on Thursday.

The latest survey projections came a day after most of the exit polls predicted a victory for the BJP against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party.

The Axis My India survey, which was in line with the earlier predictions, projects the BJP to secure 45-55 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly, which is significantly higher than the halfway majority-mark of 36 seats.

The tally of AAP is predicted to slip to 15-25 seats, it added. If the poll turns out to be accurate, then it would mark a sharp climbdown for the Arvind Kejriwal-led party, which won 62 seats in the 2020 assembly elections.

In terms of vote share, Axis My India projects the AAP to secure 42% of the total votes.

Meanwhile, the Congress is seen to be struggling to open its account. Similar to most other post-election surveys, Axis My India exit poll also predicts the grand old party to win only 0-1 seats. In terms of vote share, it sees the Congress securing barely 7% of the overall votes.

The tally of others, which includes the likes of Bahujan Samaj Party and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, is also seen in the range of 0-1. Their combined vote share is projected at 3%.
