The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has extended the deadline to submit wage details on pending applications for pension on higher wages. Employers now have time till Jan. 31, 2025 to upload these details.
More than 3.1 lakh applications for validation of options and joint options were still pending with employers, despite multiple extensions provided in the past, according to a press release.
Employers had also requested to submit replies or update the information in 4.66 lakh cases where clarification was needed by Jan. 15, 2025.
An online facility is available for submitting applications for validation of options or joint options for pension on higher wages. The facility, launched in February 2023, was to remain open for applications till March 2023, before it was extended to June 2023.
A total of 17.49 lakh applications for validation of option or joint options were received by the EPFO from pensioners and members till July 2023. According to the organisation, this will be the final opportunity for employers to ensure that they process and upload these pending applications.
