A further 888 deaths from coronavirus were recorded in U.K. hospitals, the latest figures show, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson is still recovering from the effects of his own infection.
With a total of 15,464, the U.K. is one of five countries with more than 10,000 coronavirus deaths. It reported over 5,500 additional infections in figures released by the Department of Health and Social Care on Saturday.
Daily numbers reported by the U.K. health department only include deaths in hospitals, and they report additional deaths for the day they are recorded, not the day they occurred.
