Sturgeon Says Almost Nothing in May's Brexit Letter Is True

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has hit out against Theresa May's open letter to the British people to back the Brexit deal.

“I don't say this lightly, but almost nothing in this desperate letter is true,” Sturgeon wrote in a tweet. “This is a bad deal, driven by the PM's self-defeating red lines and continual pandering to the right of her own party.”

Sturgeon, the leader of the Scottish National Party, held talks with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn last week and discussed the need to oppose and defeat May's Brexit deal when it comes before Parliament for a vote. European Union leaders signed off on the deal at a summit on Sunday and said negotiations will not be reopened if British politicians reject it.
