Inter Milan Donates 300,000 Masks to Fight Virus in Italy

(Bloomberg) --

The soccer team Inter Milan will donate 300,000 medical masks to the Italian Civil Protection agency to support the fight against the coronavirus emergency in the country.

Football Club Internazionale Milano SpA announced the donation on Thursday morning. The move follows yesterday's announcement by the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte to close shops in Italy except for grocery stores, pharmacies and few others until March 25. There are over 12,000 confirmed coronavirus cases in the country.

The Milanese club will additionally donate other healthcare products, such as protective garments and disinfectants. The club's owner, the Chinese group Suning International, will help Italian authorities using its supply chain to purchase protective goods.
