(Bloomberg) -- New York City reached a milestone, with just 1% testing positive for the novel coronavirus.
The city, which began to reopen on Monday after several weeks on lockdown, reached a high of 71% positivity in April.
“An extraordinary day for New York City,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday at a press briefing.
