Maxine Waters Invites CFPB Workers to Inform Her of Any `Abuse'

(Bloomberg) -- “If, in the course of your work, you are a witness to waste, fraud, abuse or gross mismanagement, please do not hesitate to alert me and my staff,” House Financial Services Committee Chair Maxine Waters wrote in Feb. 21 open letter to employees of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Waters, a California Democrat, vowed to use the full range of the committee's oversight power to “prevent any efforts to weaken” the CFPB, according to a statement from her office that included a copy of the letter as well as a link to a “Whistleblower Form.”

Waters last month said strengthening the CFPB and keeping a watchful eye on regulators appointed by President Donald Trump would be top priorities for Democrats leading the panel.
