(Bloomberg) -- Euro-area consumers haven't been this worried about inflation since 1993, according to the latest data from the European Commission. The data come as somber news for the European Central Bank, which is holding a policy meeting on Thursday. So far, officials have described price pressures as largely temporary, though concerns are building that the trend proves more persistent and threatens the recovery.
