Danish Police Seize $20 Million Hyde Park Property in Fraud Case

(Bloomberg) -- Danish prosecutors have seized a London property worth about 130 million kroner ($20 million) as part of their investigations into the global dividend fraud scheme.

The Hyde Park property, which wasn't identified, belongs to one of the suspects in the case, the Danish State Prosecutor for Serious Economic and International Crime said in a statement on Monday.

Denmark was one of the countries that were targeted for years by foreign investors who exploited loopholes to receive tax rebates.

Denmark estimates it lost a total of 12 billion kroner in the scheme and expects to retrieve only half that amount, excluding legal costs. With the London property, Danish prosecutors have now seized assets worth about 3 billion kroner.
