(Bloomberg) -- Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is recovering from a back injury after he was involved in a car crash early Sunday morning, California Highway Patrol said in a statement.
The driver of Hart's vehicle was identified as Jared Black, who lost control of Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda while turning onto Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles County. Black also suffered a major back injury, according to the report.
Hart, 40, was transported to Northridge Hospital. A third passenger, Rebecca Broxterman, didn't require hospitalization.
Mulholland Highway is a two-lane road stretching from the famed Mulholland Drive all the way to the coast.
Hart is a well-known stand-up comedian and has appeared in scores of films over the last decade and a half.
