Cohen Calls Out Alleged Source in Damning N.Y. Post Article

Steve Cohen, CEO of Point72 Asset Management, took to Twitter to pour cold water on a story about his first season as the owner of the New York Mets.

After a negative article published in the New York Post cited “a former MLB executive,” the Mets owner tweeted Thursday saying whoever guessed who the source is would have the opportunity to sit with the billionaire in his suite at Citi Field.

About two hours later Cohen tweeted again, alleging the source is David Samson, the former president of the Miami Marlins and current podcast host for CBS Sports.

Samson later responded to Cohen, tweeting that when he says something “it's on the record and my name is attached.” Mike Puma, the author of the article, also chimed in, saying the source in question is not David Samson.

The Post story cited the former executive as saying the value of the team has “gone backward significantly” in one year and that the source thinks Cohen's tweeting is “a huge issue.”
