Amid Heavy Rains a portion of the staircase of a two-storey building collapsed in south Mumbai on Sunday evening, leaving some people stranded on an upper floor, officials said.

While Western India deals with heavy rains, Indian Meteorological Department has noticed an upper air cyclonic circulation is laying over Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a low pressure area will form in next 12 hours, and in 24 hours it will concentrate into a depression.

Mumbai Rains LIVE: Heavy Rains Cause Waterlogging In Several Parts Of Mumbai
Heavy rains over Mumbai caused waterlogging in Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Bhandup, Andheri, Kings Circle, Malad, and Goregaon, among others. Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the city and predicted heavy downpour till Aug 21.
