Rain lashed parts of Mumbai on Monday morning, indicating a full-fledged start to the monsoon season, here are the top highlights for today's rainy day:

Mumbai has been experiencing consistent rainfall since the morning, IMD has greenlit the Mumbai suburban and city areas but thane is still under a yellow alert. Although showers have begun again in some parts.

The state's meteorological department has issued a 'red' alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in five of the 12 districts of the state, including Shimla, Kangra, Chamba, Sirmaur and Mandi.
