Kanwar Yatra 2025: Noida Police Issues Traffic Advisory; Diversions, Road Closures From July 11-25
To manage traffic during the Kanwar Yatra, Noida Police has announced a series of diversions and road closures from July 11 to 25.

As preparations begin for the Kanwar Yatra 2025, authorities in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh have taken several measures for smooth crowd management during the holy month of Sawan. The Gautam Buddha Nagar traffic police has issued a traffic advisory to manage the anticipated influx of Kanwariyas and ensure hassle-free vehicular movement.
A series of road diversions and closures will come into effect from 10:00 p.m. on July 11, according to the advisory. The restrictions will remain in place until July 25.
The diversions and road closures will primarily affect the movement of vehicles across Noida and Greater Noida. The restrictions will mostly apply to heavy, medium and light goods vehicles heading towards neighbouring districts such as Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Moradabad. However, essential services including ambulances, vehicles carrying critical goods and public transport will remain exempt from the restrictions.
Traffic Changes In Noida
As part of the advisory, trucks originating from Chilla Red Light and moving towards Ghaziabad, Hapur, or Moradabad, will now be rerouted through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, using the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway as the access point.
Similarly, vehicles entering Noida through DND Flyway, Delhi-Badarpur Border, or Okhla Barrage, will also be redirected to the Eastern Peripheral route. Additional diversions will be enforced for goods vehicles travelling from areas such as NIB, Model Town, Chhijarsi, and along the Taj Highway.
Traffic officials have also confirmed that vehicles currently using the MP-01 elevated road will be shifted to the peripheral expressway during this period.
Diversions In Greater Noida
For traffic entering from Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Sikandrabad through NH-91 (Dadri) and heading towards Delhi, the advisory mandates using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to bypass the city.
In another key change, vehicles moving from Pari Chowk to Delhi through Secunderabad and Kasna will be diverted at the Sirsa roundabout.
Additionally, the road stretch between Chilla Red Light and Pakshi Vihar Gate will be entirely closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the Yatra.
Public Advisory And Emergency Contact
The Noida Traffic Police has urged the general public to stay updated through official channels and plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays. Commuters are advised to use alternate roads and remain patient as lakhs of Kanwariyas are expected to participate in the pilgrimage.
In case of emergencies or real-time traffic assistance, commuters can contact the traffic helpline at 9971009001 or message on the WhatsApp number 7065100100.
The Kanwar Yatra is held annually during the holy month of Shraavana or Sawan. During this period, thousands of devotees walk barefoot carrying the holy water from the Ganga River. Most of the Kanwariyas carry the water from Haridwar in decorated pots suspended from a bamboo pole and walk barefoot to their native places.
