How India Launched Operation Sindoor — Details We Know So Far
The Indian forces targeted a total of nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and PoK.

The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan in precision strikes in the early hours of Wednesday.
Here's what we know so far:
The military strikes were carried out under Operation Sindoor.
Under the operation, the forces hit terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.
Precision strike weapon systems of the three forces, the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, were used in the attacks, NDTV reported, citing sources.
The forces used Kamikaze drones — also known as loitering ammunitions — weapons designed to crash into a target, typically carrying a warhead, according to NDTV.
The Indian forces targeted a total of nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and PoK, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence said.
Among the nine sites targeted are the JeM headquarters in Bahawalpur and the LeT's in Muridke, both in Pakistan Punjab, PTI quoted officials as saying.
"Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted," the ministry said.
India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution, it said.
Operation Sindoor was in response to the Pahalgam terror attack two weeks ago that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had vowed to avenge the terror attack in Pahalgam, monitored the operation through the night, NDTV reported, citing sources.
Shortly after the precision strikes were carried out, the Indian Army reported that Pakistan resorted to violation of ceasefire along the border in Jammu.
All air defence units have been activated all along the India-Pakistan border to tackle any eventuality, news agency ANI reported, citing defence officials.
A detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor will happen later in the day.
