COVID-19 In India Updates: Active Case Count Crosses 1,100; Kerala Accounts For Most Infections

According to official data, Delhi has reported a total of 104 active Covid-19 cases. Health officials said 24 patients have recovered in the past week.

"There is no need to worry. Covid caused by the new variant is similar to a normal viral illness. The patients who have come in so far are experiencing mild symptoms like fever, cough, and cold," Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh told PTI.

The active covid-19 cases in Karnataka rose to 80 on Monday, with the addition of 37 new patients, the health department said. Of these 80 active cases, 73 were from Bengaluru, it said in a bulletin.

Bengaluru reported 35 of the 37 new cases on Monday. The state's positivity rate in the last 24 hours stood at 19.37%, the bulletin added.

According to sources associated with the Ministry of Health, the cases so far are showing only influenza-like symptoms. The ministry is keeping an eye on the current corona situation across the country, as per NDTV report. "The cases coming across the country at present are not serious," the report added.

New cases have been found in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal.

A total of 8 people died at different places this month, but it is not yet decided what were the causes of death. These people were also suffering from other diseases, as per NDTV report.

The number of corona cases across the country reached 1,110, according to NDTV report. The highest number of patients were reported in Kerala at 430, followed by 210 cases in Maharashtra, 104 in Delhi, 83 in Gujarat and 69 in Tamil Nadu.

For the past one week, an average of 145 new cases are being reported from across the country every day, as per report.

Out of 1,110, around 914 Covid-19 patients are being treated at home; while 84 patients are admitted in the hospital.

Two persons, including a doctor at AIIMS Patna, tested positive for Covid-19 in Bihar, officials said on Monday, as per PTI.
