News Live Update: Bharat Bandh On 9 July 2025
More than 25 crore workers from sectors such as banking, insurance, postal services, coal mining and highways, among others, have called for a nationwide general strike on Wednesday, July 9.
The strike, called by a forum of 10 central trade unions, has been organised to protest against the “pro-corporate policies” of the government. In view of the Bharat Bandh, the trade unions have been mobilising support across both organised and unorganised sectors.
US India Trade Deal Live: Aug. 1 Deadline Will Not Be Extended Says Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday through a post on Truth Social said that the Aug. 1 deadline will not be extended and the tariffs will begin from the set date.
He further added that more letters will be sent out on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"There has been no change to this date, and there will be no change," Trump said in his post.

News Live Update: E-Commerce Platforms, Online Payments Services Being Abused For Terror Financing: FATF
Global terror financing watchdog FATF on Tuesday cited the February 2019 Pulwama terror attack, which killed 40 CRPF personnel, and the 2022 Gorakhnath Temple incident to say that e-commerce platforms and online payment services are being misused for terror financing.
In its 'Comprehensive Update on Terrorist Financing Risks', the FATF also flagged 'state sponsorship of terrorism' and said a variety of publicly available sources of information and delegations' inputs to this report indicate that "certain terrorist organisations have been and continue to receive financial and other forms of support from several national governments".

News Live Update: Government Provides Clearance For Irrigation Projects Worth Rs 558 Crore
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced on Tuesday that the central government has provided technical clearance for two major medium irrigation projects amounting to Rs 558 crore.
These initiatives will benefit thousands of farmers across more than 160 villages in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district.
