Bank Holiday On March 27 And 28: Banks To Remain Closed In These Places For Ramadan
Banks across Jammu and Kashmir will also remain closed on Mar. 28, Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of Ramadan.

Public and private sector banks across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on March 27 and 28 in observance of key religious events marking the conclusion of Ramadan.
March 27 will see the observance of Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the ‘Night of Power,’ a significant occasion in Islamic tradition. As per beliefs, it was on this night that Islam's holy book Quran was first sent from heaven to the world. The occasion is marked with special prayers and religious gatherings
Banks across Jammu and Kashmir will also remain closed on Mar. 28, Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, will be celebrated on Monday, Mar. 31 this year.
Will Banks Remain Open On Saturday, Mar. 29?
According to the Reserve Bank of India holiday calendar, the second and fourth Saturdays are closed for banks across India. However, the month of March has five Saturdays this year.
The banks will remain operational on Mar. 29, which is the fifth Saturday of the month.
Customers are advised to check with their respective bank branches for clarity.
Notably, Mar. 30 falls on a Sunday, which means that the banks will also remain closed on this day.
Will Banks Remain Open on Mar. 31?
The RBI calendar earlier declared Mar. 31 as a holiday for banks across India to mark the festival of Eid Ul-Fitr. However, in February, the central bank cancelled the holiday since Mar. 31 also marks the deadline date to make financial transitions for the current financial year 2024-25.
To avoid any discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting, banks will remain operational on Monday, despite Eid festival.
With multiple public holidays expected over the week, bank customers in Jammu & Kashmir are advised to check with their local branches and plan their banking transactions in advance to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.
