Here’s a look at Apple’s existing and upcoming stores in India:
Apple’s Store In Delhi
Apple’s store in Saket, Delhi, is located at the Select CITYWALK mall. The store is open every day of the week. The opening hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Saket store of Apple is spread over 8,417.83 sqft. This means that the upcoming Mumbai store will be larger than the Saket store.
The store, opened in April 2023, runs entirely on renewable energy and is carbon neutral. It has around 70 staff members, known as ‘Apple Creatives’, with nearly half being women.
Apple’s BKC Store In Mumbai
This store was also opened in April 2023 and is the first Apple store in India. Spanning over 20,000 sq ft, the Apple store at Jio World Drive at Bandra Kurla Complex is the largest outlet of the tech giant in India.
The store follows similar timings as the Delhi location and also operates entirely on renewable energy. For the BKC store, Apple has hired about 100 ‘Apple Creatives’.
Both stores frequently organise creative sessions, offering hands-on learning experiences related to Apple’s products.
Apple's Upcoming Store In Bengaluru
Apple’s third store in India will reportedly come up in Bengaluru. The smartphone maker has signed a lease to occupy 7,997.8 sq ft space in the Phoenix Mall of Asia in the Karnataka capital. The rent of this store is around Rs 17.44 lakh per month.
When it opens, the store will likely run on similar timings to Delhi and Mumbai stores.
In October, the company had said that it was planning to launch stories in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.
Besides its physical stores, Apple’s investments in India include its manufacturing contracts. The company has tied up with Foxconn for the manufacturing of iPhones in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, Apple has also inked a deal with the Tata Group for iPhone manufacturing.
Apple began manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017.
In mid-May, the smartphone maker reassured India over its investment targets, days after President Donald Trump asked the tech giant to shift production to the United States. At present, Apple produces nearly 15% of all iPhones in India.
