Foreign portfolio investors extended their selling streak in Indian equities for the 15th consecutive session on Wednesday. They offloaded index futures and options, while remaining buyers of stock futures and sellers of stock options.

FIIs In Cash Market

FPIs remained net sellers of Indian equities for the 15th straight session on Wednesday as they net offloaded stocks worth Rs 1,627.61 crore.

Domestic institutional investors, on the other hand, stayed net buyers for the 25th straight session as they net bought equities worth Rs 1,510.35 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

FIIs In Futures And Options 

Ahead of the March 27 expiry, the value of outstanding positions—also called open interest in the derivatives segment—has decreased for the foreign institutional investors in the Nifty futures. The FIIs' long-to-short ratio in index futures remains at 17:83.

FIIs were net sellers of index futures and options worth Rs 822.63 crore and Rs 8,066.5 crore respectively. They bought stock futures Rs 585.87 crore and sold stock options worth Rs 2,314.32 crore.

FII Contract Value 

The value of the total Nifty 50 futures open interest in the market decreased by Rs 329.671 crore at the end of the March expiry from Rs 39,668 crore a day earlier to Rs 39,338.32 crore.

F&O Cues 

The Nifty March futures were down 0.17% to 22,530.35 at a premium of 59.85 points, with the open interest down 0.68%.

The open interest distribution for the Nifty 50 March 13 expiry series indicated most activity at 23,000 call strikes, and the 22,000 put strikes had the maximum open interest.

Long-Short Ratio  

The total long-short ratio for foreign investors remains rose to 1.39 from 1.43 earlier.
