The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released data for February 2021. Here are the key highlights:
Industry gross subscribers increased by a healthy 8.2 million month-on-month (5.6 million in January 2021 and flattish in nine months FY21) to 1.17b in February 2021, led by subscriber adds in all the three major telcos.
However, active subscribers adds at 3.2 million (reaching 982 million) were just 40% of gross adds – Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd./Vodafone Idea Ltd. did not see any gains, and only Bharti Airtel Ltd.'s active adds were in line with gross adds.
