Indices in the Asia-Pacific region ended the first day of Christmas week on a positive note tracking overnight gains in the US and updates on Nissan-Honda merger. Japan's Nikkei closed 1.2% higher, Australia's ASX 200 1.7% up, South Korea's Kospi rose 1.6%, and China's CSI 300 was 0.15% higher.
