Stock Market Highlights: Nifty, Sensex Snap Two-Day Losing Streak; Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco Lead Gains
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 131.9 points or 0.54% higher at 24,614.3 and the BSE Sensex ended 304.3 points or 0.38% up at 80,539.9.

The benchmark equity indices closed the day in the green, snapping their two-day losing streak on Wednesday. Shares of Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco contributed positively to the index.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 131.9 points or 0.54% higher at 24,614.3 and the BSE Sensex ended 304.3 points or 0.38% up at 80,539.9. The NSE Nifty 50 rose as much as 0.72% during the day.







HDFC Bank was the top gainer on the Nifty 50 in terms of point contribution. The bank was followed by Apollo Hospitals, Bharti Airtel, M&M, Hindalco and others.

Apollo Hospitals gained the most in the Nifty 50 pack with gains of nearly 8% and Hindalco saw gains of over 5%. Hero Moto, Cipla also closed in the green.
IndusInd Bank, Titan, ITC and UltraTech weighed on the index marking nearly 1% losses at close.

Most of the sectors ended higher with Nifty Defence, Pharma, Metal, Auto and Media leading the lot. The sectors in the red were PSU Bank, Oil and Gas, FMCG and Energy.

The BSE Midcap and SmallCap indices ended 0.56% and 0.58% higher, respectively.
The market breadth was skewed in the favour of the buyers as 2,225 stocks advanced, 1,868 declined and 153 remained unchanged on the BSE.
