The benchmark equity indices were trading mixed, with the NSE Nifty 50 up by 0.07% at 24,895 and the Sensex 0.13% lower at 80,734.
Here is a look at the stocks that saw major movement around midday:
BSE
BSE share price surged as much as nearly 10% around midday on Wednesday to reach Rs 6,847.50 apiece.
India's oldest bourse's net profit jumped nearly five times to Rs 494 crore in the quarter ending Mar 31, 2025, thereby beating analysts' estimates.
The stock exchange posted a net profit of Rs 107 crore in the same quarter last year.
There was a sharp increase in revenue from operations, which rose 75% year-on-year to Rs 856.6 crore. This growth was largely due to higher transaction charges, meaning the exchange earned more from trades carried out on its platform.
BSE also announced a dividend of Rs 23 per equity share. This includes a final dividend of Rs 18 per share and a special dividend of Rs 5 per share. The special dividend has been declared to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the exchange.
HAL
Amid the ongoing war like tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack and retaliatory strikes carried out by India under Operation Sindoor, the share price of the defence stock kept shuttling between green and red. Around 12 pm, the share price was 2.12% lower at Rs 4,411.80.
Aarti Drugs
Share price for Aarti Drugs skyrocketed almost 17% around midday to reach as high as Rs 408.80 apiece. The company announced its Q4 results on Tuesday. Revenue was up 9% to Rs 676 crore versus Rs 620 crore, ebitda was up 8% to Rs 93.2 crore versus Rs 86.1 crore, margin was at 13.8% versus 13.9% and net profit shot up 33% to Rs 63 crore versus Rs 47.4 crore.
Paytm
Paytm share price increased nearly 10% to reach Rs 892.40 apiece as the company reported improved profitability for January–March, despite incurring a one-time loss. Paytm's ebitda loss narrowed to Rs 88.6 crore from loss of Rs 222.4 crore from the previous quarter. The company achieved ebitda guidance.
Piramal Enterprises
Piramal Enterprises share price rose more than 8% to reach Rs 1,042.80 after it announced Q4 results.
The company beat Bloomberg's net income estimates and rose 28% to Rs 964 crore versus Rs 755 crore, according to Bloomberg data. Additionally, the stock was trading at high volume on Wednesday.
The company announced its Q4 results on Tuesday after market hours. While total income was up 20% to Rs 3,032.6 crore versus Rs 2,528.2 crore in the same period last year, net profit missed Bloomberg estimates of Rs 126.5 crore and fell to Rs 102.4 crore versus Rs 137 crore last year.
Total assets under management increased 36% to Rs 80,689 crore.
MGL
Mahanagar Gas Ltd.'s share price increased more than 3% to reach Rs 1,423.40 apiece on Wednesday around noon after meeting Bloomberg profit estimates in its standalone Q4 results announced on Tuesday. Revenue was up 5.7% to Rs 1,864.85 crore versus Rs 1,757.57 crore. Ebitda rose 20% to Rs 378.37 crore versus Rs 314.41 crore. Margin expanded slightly to 20.3% from 17.9%. Net profit increased 12% to Rs 252.19 crore versus Rs 225.37 crore.
