Nifty Top Gainers, Losers On July 9: Shriram Finance, Coal India To HCLTech, Tata Steel
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 0.18% down at 25,476.1, while the BSE Sensex closed 0.21% lower at 83,536.08.
Shriram Finance Ltd., Bajaj Finance Ltd., Coal India Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and UltraTech Cement Ltd. were among the top gainers in the NSE Nifty 50 on Tuesday.
HCL Technologies Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd., Hindalco Industries Ltd., Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. and Tech Mahindra Ltd. dragged.
Marking the highest losses for the day, HCLTech declined nearly 1.98%. Tata Steel ended 1.82% lower. Hindalco and Apollo Hospitals closed over 1% lower. Tech Mahindra stock also declined 1.35%.
Shriram Finance Ltd. led with 1.73% gains. Bajaj Finance and Coal India closed with nearly 2% gains. HUL shares closed 1.27% up, while shares of UltraTech also closed in the green, marking gains of 0.96%.
The Nifty closed below the 25,500 mark, snapping a three-day gaining streak. Nifty Realty was the top losing sector, followed by Metal and Oil and Gas, with each sector falling by more than 1%.
Meanwhile, the Nifty Midcap 150 fell for the fourth consecutive day, although Vedanta recovered from its lows after clarifying that the Viceroy report was baseless.
