Nestle India Ltd., Axis Bank Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd. and Eternal Ltd. were the top losers in trade for the day.
Apollo Hospitals closed 3.63% higher, the most gains among the lot. Shares of BEL closed 2.55% higher, while shares of RIL also marked gains of 1.85%. The shares of SBI Life and Asian Paints also closed with gains over 1%.
Nestle posted a 2.22% decline at close. Axis Bank also closed over 2% lower. Shriram Finance, Eternal and Trent also closed in the red.
Indian benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Tuesday, led by share prices of Apollo Hospitals Ltd and Bharat Electronics Ltd.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 24.75 points, or 0.10% higher at 25,541.80, while the BSE Sensex closed 90.83 points, or 0.11% up at 83,697.26. During the day, Nifty rose 0.30% to trade at 25,593.40 and Sensex gained 0.32% to 83,874.29.
