Nifty 50 Top Gainers And Losers On Jan. 23: From UltraTech, Grasim Industries To BPCL, Kotak Mahindra Bank
On the Nifty, 31 stocks closed in the green, while 18 declined.

Share prices of UltraTech Cement Ltd., Grasim Industries Ltd. and Wipro Ltd. were the top gainers among the NSE Nifty 50 stocks on Thursday. Among the losers were shares of Bharat Petroleum Corp., Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. and HCL Technologies Ltd.
The Indian benchmark indices extended their gains to day two on Thursday, led by UltraTech and information-technology stocks on positive earnings and optimism over Donald Trump's AI policies.
The S&P BSE Sensex closed 115 points or 0.15% up at 76,520, while the NSE Nifty 50 was 50 points or 0.22% higher at 23,205.3. Intraday, the Nifty 50 rose 0.5% to 23,270, and the Sensex advanced 0.44% to 76,743.

Top Gainers
Shares of UltraTech Cement soared 6.8% after the company posted robust third-quarter earnings that exceeded analysts' expectations.
For the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2024, UltraTech posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,470 crore, a decrease of 17% compared to the same period last year, but still ahead of Bloomberg’s consensus estimate of Rs 1,324 crore.
Wipro extended its post-earnings gains to a second day, closing 2.78% higher.
Grasim Industries, Shriram Finance and Eicher Motors are the other stocks ending more than 2%.
Top Losers
BPCL was the top loser on the Nifty after the company in its post-earnings call indicated a 20% reduction in Russian crude supplies.. The scrip shed over 2% at market close.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCLTech, Power Grid and Relieance Industries were the other losers, falling over 1%.
