CARE Ratings Research Report

Industry data chart from April 2020 to February 2021 shows a 17% decline on year-on-year basis in passenger vehicles, 35% in commercial vehicles, a 17% increase in agro chemicals, sharp cut in the sales of refrigerators, air conditioners, gems and jewellery, apparel.

In FMCG goods, soaps, detergents and shampoo fared well, whereas toothpaste, vegetable oil and milk are still lagging in year-on-year basis.

In infrastructure, while the pace of highway construction has outperformed the year ago period, cement and power sales are still lower.

All capital goods sales are lower than the year ago period by 15-50%.
