The Indian rupee appreciated against the U.S. dollar after a day's blip.
The domestic currency opened at 79.57 against the greenback on Wednesday against its previous close of 79.65. It then strengthened by 23 paise to 79.41. As of 12:15 p.m., the currency was trading at 79.47.
The rupee had weakened to a record low beyond 80 twice last month.
